Pioneer of a new expression, conjugating equestrian art, musics, dance and comedy, Bartabas invented and staged tactfully, ardour and intuition, a new shape of live performance: the equestrian theater.
“Symbolically, our look is the one of the caravan. To live in a caravan, it is to live in human scale.”
For the cinema, Bartabas realized two full-length films: Mazeppa (1993, outdone in Cannes) and Chamane (1995) produced by Marin Karmitz.
Its last opus, Galop Arrière, is similar to a real one “traveling of memory”.
