At the occasion of this exceptional moment, Bartabas will direct for the first time the Cadre Noir of Saumur and the Equestrian Academy of Versailles in an equestrian ballet mixing rectitude and volutes, male and female.
In the continuity of his great equestrian choreographies, Bartabas will honour the French tradition of horse riding for an unprecedented meeting of cultures (the Equestrian Academy of Versailles) and sport (the Cadre Noir).
From 16 to 23 June 2024, these two institutions of excellence will present their specificities in a series of acts (academic jumps, fencing on horseback, carousel, long reins…) choreographed on music by Arandel, recreations around the work of Bach.
In the Grande Halle de la Villette, Bartabas’ choreography will bring together twenty-five riders and forty horses for a show combining tradition and modernity, rigour and emotion.
This project was funded by Paris 2024 as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
